Breadchaser Analytics vs Profound: An Honest Comparison (2026)

By Nick Montes, Founder, Breadchaser.ai · Published July 16, 2026

TL;DR: Profound is the enterprise heavyweight of AI visibility: a $1B valuation, customers like Ramp and US Bank, 1,000+ G2 reviews, and one genuinely unique capability (CDN-level crawler analytics showing which AI bots read which pages of your site). Its public tiers start at $99/mo for ChatGPT-only monitoring and $399/mo for three engines with content agents, both billed yearly. Breadchaser Analytics costs $95/mo month-to-month, tracks four engines as one of five connected domains (web, CRM, revenue, SEO, AI), and comes from a company you can hire to do the work. If you are an enterprise, use Profound. If you are a health, fitness, or wellness business, Profound was not built for you, and we were.

What is Profound?

Profound (New York, founded 2024) effectively named the answer engine optimization category for enterprises. It raised $155M total, including a $96M Series C at a $1B valuation in February 2026, and claims 1,800+ customers including 12% of the S&P 500. The platform: Answer Engine Insights (share of voice, sentiment, citations across up to 10 engines at the enterprise tier), Conversation Explorer (prompt volumes built from a claimed 400M+ real AI conversations), Agent Analytics (crawler tracking wired into your CDN), and Agents (credit-metered AEO content generation). Its G2 base, 1,000+ reviews around 4.5, is the deepest in the category.

Where Profound is honestly better

At enterprise scale there is no comparison: more engines, crawler-level data, real prompt-volume estimates, compliance checkboxes, and a review base a procurement team can trust. If you are MongoDB, you should not be reading this page. Two honest cautions their own users raise on G2: the interface is data-heavy for newcomers, and the data quality depends on setup done right.

Where we are honestly different

Three structural differences, not feature gaps:

  1. The unit of success. Profound measures answers. We measure bookings. A wellness business does not need 10 engines tracked; it needs to know whether AI visibility became revenue, which requires the CRM and Stripe sitting in the same dashboard as the probe results.
  2. The local layer. GBP, reviews, listings, and local citations decide local AI answers, and they are absent from Profound's product because its customers do not have storefronts. Ours do.
  3. The hands. Profound's Agents draft content; someone still has to run the program, earn the citations, and fix the profile. We sell that as a $997/mo lane with published pricing, from the same company that shows you the score.

Which should you pick?

  • Pick Profound if you are an enterprise or funded company with a content team, especially if crawler analytics and prompt volumes matter to your reporting.
  • Pick Breadchaser Analytics if you run a health, fitness, or wellness business, want month-to-month pricing, four engines at the entry tier, and visibility connected to revenue, with the option of hiring the work out without switching vendors.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Profound cost?

As of July 16, 2026, their public tiers are $99/mo (Starter, ChatGPT-only, 50 prompts) and $399/mo (Growth, 3 engines, 100 prompts, 400 agent credits), both billed yearly, with custom enterprise pricing above that. This was quote-only until recently, so older writeups say "no public pricing."

What is the best Profound alternative for a small business?

It depends on what you need. For pure multi-engine tracking on a team budget, Peec (from $95/mo) is the strongest tracker (our comparison). For a local health or wellness business that needs visibility tied to bookings plus the local layer done, Breadchaser Analytics plus our done-for-you lane covers what tools structurally do not.

Does Profound do the SEO work for you?

No tool does. Profound's Agents generate draft content on credits, which is the furthest any tool goes; earning citations, optimizing your Google Business Profile, generating reviews, and running the program remain human work, in-house or via an agency.
